MIRA GARUDA

AFFIRMATION to the WORLD:

Good things take time.
Keep believing.

Good things take time. Keep believing.

Mira is an incredibly motivated leader. Once she sets her sights on a goal, she does everything she can to achieve it. No matter what challenges come her way, she is always determined to put in the extra effort to reach her goals.

All her life, Mira’s every thought centered around soccer. She always put in the extra work to strive and push for better results. She recently suffered through a devastating ACL tear that she thought would put her world to a stop. Before she tore her ACL, Mira was captain of her Pleasanton Rage 2009 soccer team for many years, leading them through many ups and downs. She endured surgery in October, and embarked on her 9-month long rehab. Although she struggled in the beginning, she started to realize that so much can be taken away from this experience! Mira learned that progress is progress, and that focusing on her own recovery and milestones is what will push her to her final goal!

The months after surgery put Mira’s true character to the test. She started to learn how to flip the situation positively and celebrate the small victories! Instead of worrying about the far away future, she focused on the next step in her journey. She even rekindled her love for painting and puzzles! She also enjoys spending time with her friends and going on adventures with her family.

One of the best things she has learned from this process so far is enjoying the small moments in her life, and she would love to start teaching girls to improve their mindset based on their own goals and journeys through Girls Soccer Worldwide!

Mira loves to play with her goldendoodle Lucy after a hard day. She even taught her dog to be a statue!!! Mira’s determination started from a young age. When she was just 11 years old, she made a detailed slideshow and 5-page list of all of the materials that her new dog would need to convince her parents to let her get a dog. And what do you know, all her hard work paid off when she got her new best friend!!

“I push for quality performance.” -Mira
