“Loyalty holds so much value in people I am friends with and the character I hold for myself.” Avitha's “why” to herself is Authenticity. That is the only way for change to actually happen, and she believes we need to recognize that we require dedication to people and the ideas they believe in. By lifting each other up and creating solace and dependability within one another, we can create creative environments that can create ideas that make change.

Avitha is goofy, down-to-earth, and authentic to who she is. Because she knows what it feels like to be that person alone, left out, and not feeling included. she celebrates these moments as independence and strength to who she is—making her want to try even harder to include those around her in making them feel comfortable and safe.

Joy for Avitha comes from being a part of a big community whether that is her family, cousins, soccer team, dance team, leadership, catholic church youth group, and so on. But she also finds joy in the small things like going out to eat, reading books, helping someone, solving problems, and especially seeing the contagious smile on someone’s face that just makes you want to smile as well.

Through GSWW she is able to take what she learns and apply it to other passions of hers, such as her church youth group. Avitha is filling in a gap that was lost in her church and helping bring together the youth of her church, giving everyone an opportunity to create their own path and support them in sharing and executing their ideas. Through this program, she is able to take her skills and show everyone that no matter where you come from, you can make change and that your ideas and opinions matter.
